Tenant v. B & A Associates, LLC

Chicago Renters' Rights Enforced by Class Action

This case was filed on behalf of all tenants at the 190+unit apartment building at 1936 N. Clark, on Lincoln Park.

Building code violations were cited against the building in the 12 months before plaintiff and other renters signed leases or renewals of leases in 2006 through 2007.  Tenant sent the landlord a letter stating that their rental agreement would terminate in 14 days if all such disclosures were not made by the landlord.  The letter was ignored.  So the Tenant seeks damages equal to one-month's rent per tenant, under RLTO § 100.

If you have information about disclosures of code violations with leases at 1936 N. Clark, please contact mark@depositlaw.com

Copies of leases that renters have from 2005 through 2006 are especially requested, in order to get renters at this building what they deserve.
